But now this music thing is starting to take over my life, and my sleep, and I am getting addicted to it.

I am up and working at 8am and have been for the past hour or so. I just couldn’t sleep this morning as I had songs going through my mind which awoke me. I have been playing drums and singing with another bandmate for about two years now and we have seen a lot of progress over that time. We now have crowds of 60 or 70 people when we play and are making more money than before. We will also be doing paid gigs at the beach bars this summer and hitting the road to do other cities. HVAC repairs was my main job, as I am a certified HVAC pro, and have been for the past 15 years. But now this music thing is starting to take over my life, and my sleep, and I am getting addicted to it. I used to think about heating and cooling devices, but now my focus is shifting to songwriting and singing, and I couldn’t be happier about it. My dream is to travel around the country playing gigs in bars and clubs and making people happy with the music that we make. At 55, I thought I would be an HVAC worker for the local contractor for the rest of my life, but my oh my how life can throw you down a different path just like that. I guess time will tell how it all pans out, but so far it is going really well and in a year or two there could be some cool things going on at the local businesses with us playing music in air conditioned clubs.

I woke up early today with numbers going through my mind. I think it was 6am when I looked at the clock this morning, but luckily I went to bed around 10pm, so I pretty much got all of the sleep I needed. I’m just a bit amped up about this EV stock I am sitting on, as I am feeling that it is going to take off pretty soon. The company began back in 2014 and next month they will finally start the manufacturing process and shipping cars to customers. I have about 10K shares from my HVAC system repair job at the local business, and hopefully they will be worth something by the end of this year or midway through next. The cars have a great air purifying system in them and the air conditioning system is second to none from what I have heard online. I will keep an eye on the price and plan on selling the stock when the timing is right. I worked a lot with my heating dealership over the years doing ductwork sealing and things like that, and basically put all of my savings into this company. I guess I will know something soon because in just five more weeks they will be building cars. My HVAC tech friend also has the same number of shares from all of his heating equipment sales and we would both be set if this stock can reach its all time high one more time. I guess time will tell and it all comes down to patience at this point.

I have been driving for over 20 years now, and over the years, I have had a few cars within that time.

Most of them were used cars, as I was always told that brand new cars drastically depreciate in value the minute you drive off the parking lot.

So, I have always purchased used. However, the last car that I purchased was a new car and now 5 years later, I am still driving it around. I have always made sure that I get my yearly maintenance done, and I always make sure that the oil and filters are changed accordingly. Of course, if I take care of the car, the life will be extended. The same goes for my home and all the appliances and equipment inside of it. While I don’t get all of them serviced, I perform certain maintenance on them every year. The only equipment that I get serviced is my HVAC unit. And it is recommended that a service should be performed every year. During this service, the HVAC tech will tune up the unit, the electrical components will be checked, the coils and drains will be cleaned, and the moving parts will be lubricated. In addition, the fan and motor inside the outside condenser unit is checked. All these are preventative maintenance measures to guarantee that my HVAC unit is performing optimally. I know that eventually the unit will need to be replaced, but for now, I will do what I can to extend the life just like I do with my car.

It is safe to say that in the next few months, our air conditioners will be working overtime. Over the last few years, if you’ve noticed, the months have been getting warmer. In fact, recently, we had one of the hottest Summers on record, and the experts are predicting warmer temperatures in the future. As the temperature heats up more and more, people will be using their central air conditioning to remain comfortable in their houses. Personally, I live in the southern part of the country, so I am used to using my A/C for most of the year. However, under normal weather conditions, I would begin using my A/C in late April or early May. But this year, I began using my A/C in January, and I expect to use it through the end of September. With this much use of my central air conditioning, it’s important that my HVAC unit is in the best possible condition. This is the reason I make sure that my HVAC unit is inspected and tuned up every year by a licensed HVAC repairman. With all these predictions of warmer temperatures to come, I would hate to have my unit break down in the middle of a heat wave. Unlike during the Winter time, where I can use my space heater as a substitute for central heating, I do not have a backup means of cooling for the Summer months. I can’t control what’s to come with the weather, but what I can do is to make sure that my central air conditioning and heating are in the best possible condition.

With the warmer months quickly approaching, my husband Jack, is in a bit of a panic. He is the owner of an HVAC company, and he is afraid that he will not be able to keep up with the coming demand for HVAC service. Currently, the HVAC industry is growing at an exponential rate and there aren’t enough technicians to keep up with the demand. Last Summer, he had 5 HVAC technicians working for him and they all had to work 12 to 14 and on occasion, 16-hour days. Of course, Jack doesn’t want his technicians working those long hours because they will eventually lose productivity, and not to mention the increase in mistakes. So, to prepare for the new busy season, he is trying to hire at least 2 more HVAC technicians to add to his team. Unfortunately, most of the technicians that are currently unemployed don’t have the proper skills to fully perform the tasks at hand. Many of them are new graduates and will need a few years of training in order to become an effective HVAC technician. If Jack doesn’t find any qualified technicians on his own, he plans to reach out to a technical staffing company. A staffing company is great because it can guarantee qualified candidates for the job. The year just began, but Spring break is already right around the corner.

My kids will be out of school for a week, and they are looking forward to the break.

During this time of year, I usually get ready for the warmer months to approach. And there are always a few things that I do around my home to get ready for the warmer seasons. Of course, spring cleaning is at the top of the list and my checklist has lots of tasks to be completed. A few include cleaning all the baseboards and window sills, washing my curtains, and replacing all the heavy drapery with lighter window treatments. I also clean my HVAC air vents as well as dust all the light fixtures in my home. In addition to cleaning, there are a few tasks that I never skip. They include changing the air filter in my HVAC unit and removing debris and leaves away from the unit. Most importantly, I always schedule my yearly maintenance during the Spring. Because I live in the south, I use my HVAC unit the most during the warmer months, which means from April all the way to October my A/C will be running on most of those days. Getting the HVAC unit serviced will guarantee that it doesn’t malfunction while the weather is hot outside. During Spring break, my kids will be thinking about what new video games to play, while my schedule will be packed doing things to make sure that my house remains as comfortable as can be. And having a working HVAC unit is essential for our comfort.

A few days ago, I hired a handyman to fix my dishwasher that broke down a week ago.

I must admit the dishwasher is perhaps the least used appliance in my kitchen, I never use enough pots and pans to justify the use of the dishwasher.

So, occasionally, I will use it to wash some of my glassware that is safe to be washed that way. Well, during the cycle, the dishwasher stopped, and it never came back on. I opened the unit only to find that there was water accumulated at the bottom of the machine. I tried to restart it but to no avail, so I had no choice but to call a handyman to fix the issue. I went to the internet and found a very reputable guy who was in business for more than 22 years. Plus, he had great reviews, so I was comfortable knowing that he was a good handyman. I was shocked at the list of services that he performed. They range from simple jobs like installing ceiling fans to complicated jobs like fixing an HVAC unit. In order to fix or troubleshoot an HVAC unit, it takes some technical skills as well as a fair amount of electrical knowledge. In addition, you’ll also need to fulfill some educational requirements to become an HVAC technician. I doubt that the handyman had any official training, In fact, he might not have any at all and received his knowledge of HVAC units from fixing the machine over the years. While a handyman is great for odd jobs around the home, I wouldn’t hire one to fix my HVAC unit, I’d rather use a professional technician.

With the rise in prices of everything and anything, I have been super conservative with my spending.

You can even say that I have become a strict money manager when it comes to my finances.

Currently, I am at the point where I know how every penny in my bank account is being spent. Recently, I went through my online statement and got rid of all the extra subscriptions that I did not need. Additionally, for the ones that I did keep, I logged into my accounts and made adjustments where I could, to lower the monthly cost. I am beginning to think we don’t need all this excess that we all have. If you think about it, there are certain things that we need, but there are things that are pure luxury that we could do without. For instance, I don’t need a daily coffee from the local coffee shop, but I do need a bed to sleep in or a place to live. And within that place to live, I need hot water, electricity as well as central air conditioning and heating. Having central air conditioning and heating guarantees that inside my home is comfortable all year long. Yes, I could possibly eliminate central air conditioning and heating by using other methods to keep my home comfortable, and I have considered doing it. Instead of central heating, space heaters would be a great alternative for heating my home. While space heaters can’t provide heat to an entire house, they are great for small areas. Anyway, I will continue to cut down on as much expenses as I can, and for those essential items that I need like central air conditioning and heating, I will eventually find ways to cut costs without compromising the comfort of my home.

It’s been quite the job plus I’m so ecstatic that I had the option to sort of ride that task wave for as long as I did. Working in the resort world has been quite a ride indeed. In fact, this is the first time in 25 years that I’ve been inside the commercial HVAC of a proper office. For years, I’ve worked out of tiny spaces that were carved out for work space. Hotels plus resorts are notorious for never easily having proper offices. Although there are general supervisors and sales personnel, there are few offices. For me, I was outside of the a/c most of the time. I have always been a hands-on supervisor. Primarily, my focus was the outside of the hotels. Whether that was restaurants, pools, recreation programs or special events, I was outside working them. It is quite odd to be inside the commercial HVAC of an office. I was promoted to run a new department in our corporate offices. It’s absolutely a change given what I have been doing for the last 25 years. Yet, I do love the regular schedule plus having a nice office is cool too. There is even zone controlled HVAC in this locale. I have a control device that is right outside my office door. It’s a far cry from running around in subtropical hot and cold temperatures trying to take care of our guests. But again, I’m looking forward to the new challenges. And for me, the crisp, comfortable air conditioning sure doesn’t hurt!

After my dad died, mom spent many years mourning his loss and staying stuck in her bedroom.

Ten years later, she decided she would never quit loving him, but it was time to do some travelling.

She wanted to spend time with all of her grandchildren and children who had scattered all around the United States. She called me one afternoon and asked if I would like to go house shopping with her. When she said she was going to do some travelling, I thought it was a good idea. I didn’t expect for her to want me to go house shopping with her. We stopped at several places that were selling travel trailers, but she wasn’t happy with them. We finally went to a center that sold cabins. She asked the salesperson if they sold tiny homes. She wanted an affordable tiny home that she could take with her when she travelled. She didn’t enjoy spending the night in strange beds. If she could take her bed with her, as an affordable tiny home, she was all for it. We looked at several tiny homes, but she wasn’t happy with them. She saw one that had a small front porch and there were no steps inside. It cost a bit more than she wanted to pay, but she thought it was perfect. They added in the HVAC system and the furniture as part of the price of the portable tiny home. I’m not sure how she planned on pulling it to her destinations, but I was sure she had something planned or she wouldn’t have bought a portable tiny home.
