I saw this photo in a zine and I cannot get it out of my mind.

The man had wood flooring that had seaglass set down on it and then put epoxy over the flooring to make it smooth.

The worn glass and wooden floors then looked love a beach scene. The wood floor served as the sand and the sea glass served as the ocean. How cool is that? I started looking at epoxy floor designs online and they were all so gorgeous. I wasn’t quite sure how I would assume about having all my floros love it. Would it be like living in a bowling alley? I decided that I would begin small and only do my family room. I found all sorts of muted glass and decided on the patterns I wanted. I then realized I didn’t assume at all confident genuinely working with epoxy. Thankfully the local cleaning corporation I hire from time to time does epoxy floor installation. I talked to the pros about what design I wanted and drew it out for them. I clearly marked the family room as being the only part to do it in. I then left and came back to a masterpiece. I like the current flooring! I don’t want to put a table and chairs on the floors now. I know I can get all of the flooring redone if it gets foggy or scratched, however I just like the look of it. I can’t think how classy, edgy and smooth it looks. I am not going to lie, I am desperate to add this look to my family room. One room at a time though.

I have been thinking about my main lavatory for years debating on remodeling it.

The complication is that I kind of like the layout of the lavatory.

I have a nice big wooden vanity mirror that I don’t want to replace. The countertop is granite and in good shape. I replaced the faucets and sinks years ago, so that is fine. The window is new, I painted the walls and ceiling earlier and I put in a more current light. The only thing I genuinely would need to replace is the shower area. I didn’t love that the shower basin had beige tile with stained grout. I obtained a bleaching pen that was supposed to paint my grout lines colorless. The pen ran out after doing more than three or four lines. I obtained another one and the same thing happened. I tried all sorts of cleaning agents and it still looked gray and black in places. I figured I would need to remodel it just to have a wipe looking shower. My mother requested hiring out cleaning services. Mama said that a cleaning corporation might have professional tile and grout cleaning services. Mama pushed to at least give them a try before I whipped out my sledgehammer. I am so ecstatic I did! I never expected much out of tile and grout cleaning. After the corporation left I was shocked at what my sparkling clean lavatory looked like. The beige tile is genuinely quite pretty again! The grout lines all looked brand new. I am so ecstatic that I don’t assume there is any need to remodel anymore. Calling that cleaning corporation saved me a lot of cash.

When I 1st moved into this loft I was disgusted.

The previous homeowner was drastically gross. He left piles of his stuff and stacks of garbage everywhere. I don’t see how that is easily legal. I assume that when you leave of a place, you have to take everything. That he 2 left end tables, a hutch, 4 chairs and tons of trash is just rude. I had a heck of a time cleaning it all. I painted all the walls and ceilings to make things assume cleaner. I also washed the exterior windows and hired out HVAC duct cleaning. Lastly I hired out carpet cleaning services. The owner had cats that just peed wherever they wanted. I sad that the aroma of cat urine would never genuinely leave the house. The carpet cleaners were amazing. I am used to people using machines that leave a sticky residue that never genuinely goes away. It has a genuinely distinctive and unpleasant aroma and the rugs constantly assume weird. Not this time with this cleaning corporation! I only had to wait about an hour after the rugs were done. They felt so soft, fuzzy and brand new. The best thing was that the stench of cat pee had finally dissipated from my home. I kept the cleaning corporation’s contact number since they do a whole range of services love upholstery cleaning, flood wipe ups and floor waxing. I am thinking once I am in my loft for a little longer I will utilize more of their services. It is so nice that I didn’t have to replace the rugs right when I moved.

Next Winter I am going to have the exterior of my loft painted, currently the outside of my loft is a hideous orange color.

The exterior trim is deep brown.

It looks love a rustic loft and that isn’t the look I am going for. The previous owners decided on the colors. I am not a fan of them at all. I looked into painting all it myself however it would be too tough because of the difficult level changes and how high up some of the trim is. It is better to just hire loft painters and call it an afternoon. I found a corporation that will paint my loft however the price they quoted was pretty high. I found I could knock some money off if I cleaned the exterior of the loft myself. The principle complication is that I don’t own a pressure washer and didn’t know I could handle using one. I did some hunting online and I found my solution. I found a cleaning corporation that offers exterior cleaning services. They will pressure scrub the siding of the house, the porches and railings, the cement driveway, whatever you want. The fee for exterior cleaning is quite affordable too. I know to save money and time I will have them prep the loft for my painters. Once everything is rendered all squeaky clean, I will have the painters do the job. I will get my porches, trim and all the siding done in a nice colorless and gray theme. It is going to look so much better than what I am dealing with right now.

Work bumps me around from time to time.

I get stuck in an area for months and need to set up shop.

Sometimes I rent a place short term and other times I can get away with a hotel room. This most recent change with work has me in an area for a year. I thought about it and I needed something more than a rental. I don’t want to pay out the butt for it though. I found affordable home solutions in my new area quite easily. Apparently it is very popular to make a home out of shipping containers now. Shipping container homes aren’t pretty from the outside. You can paint the metal but it still looks like a shipping container. Inside it looks like a normal house. You can add carpets to the floors, stairways, windows, doors and have a fully functional bathroom and kitchen. The modular shipping container homes that I looked at were extremely reasonable in price and totally awesome on the inside. What do I care what it looks like on the outside? I immediately bought my shipping container home and I am living in it. I really like my affordable tiny home. I have just enough space to stretch out and be comfortable. I have one bathroom, a small kitchen, bedroom and living room. I also live on a nice plot of land where I can ride a bike, go for a run or hit a hiking route nearby. I think I am going to like living here.

Last month, I went to an estate sale with Max. There was an adorable chair that came up for sale plus I couldn’t help but bid on it. It was just a classy wooden chair and, considering how all of us were at a farmhouse auction, I was sure it was entirely handmade furniture.I bought the chair for only ten dollars, then I took it home… Before taking it into the house, I scrubbed it so hard; I was afraid I might damage it. I’m not sure how long the chair sat out in the barn, but it was totally disgusting. Once I got the chair into the residing room. It looked care about it had been custom made for me plus our room. When I saw the chair being pulled out of the barn, I thought it was simply adorable. I could picture it laying in our residing room plus being occupied by our four-year-old kid. I also thought how cute it would look in her bedroom, but how would I ever find a table to match it. The chair was custom made for either our residing room or our kid’s bedroom. It looked care about someone had known I was coming to that auction plus had it sticking in the barn waiting for me to show up. Mom thought I was crazy for buying that chair that looked so beat up plus broken. When I saw it, I saw that little custom-made chair our dad had built for me when I was a little girl for 5. A chair brought back many memories, plus I am stoked that I found it for our home.

For all the people, they do not think interior design help is a necessity. Lately, more plus more, I’m finding that I am not care about all the people. My loft apartment is a kaleidoscope of colors plus designs. Most of the furniture in our loft apartment came from yard sales or goodwill stores. I’m not cheap, despite the fact that I am a 1st time homeowner on a budget. I felt that after I got located plus our boss gave me the promised raise plus a promotion, then I would purchase real furniture. I would buy my furniture, a single room at a time, because I do not guess how I could afford to furnish the entire house all at once. I had to disclose that it overwhelmed me with all the planning plus shopping for all the various small plus pressing pieces that would create our bedroom. I was in well over our head, plus I knew I needed interior design help if I wanted a home that was a home plus not a madhouse. I called our best friend whose wife had recently finished college for interior designing. I asked if he thought she would ‌ come in plus help me with some interior design in our home, he was sure that she would ‌ volunteer her interior design help, despite the fact that I would not allow her to do so much work for free… For any kind of interior design help she could give me, I was more than willing to spend some money on her. I reminded him ‌he had seen our apartment plus how horrible it looked, plus I would not be the a single 1 who had to spend our money for the rest of our life for our terrible taste. I was going to accept his wife’s interior design expertise plus paid her for every penny she was worth.

Of all the things I could have inherited from our Gran, I got a wooden table, but i sat there plus chuckled so hard that I wept, my parents thought I was expressing our grief, despite the fact that I was laughing, then when my crying turned into an infectious belly laugh, our parents panicked and brought me a glass of wine plus told me that I had to calm down; The two of us were at Gran’s wake.

The only words written in Gran’s perfect handwriting were, ‘You get the root beer table!’, and no a single knew about mine plus Gran’s adventures with the root beer table, so there was no way they could guess I was laughing. The two of us had many more tea parties at that root beer table than the queen herself, one weekend, our brother plus I were mighty sailors plus Gran was the serving wench who brought rum plus cookies to her fearless pirate captains. I had more memories of Gran plus that root beer table than I had of anyone else; After the wake, I put Gran’s root beer table in our automobile plus headed home. I was telling our best friend some ‌old stories that went along with the root beer table, while trying to find somewhere to put it in our home. Although I never thought about having a root beer table in our front room, its improper shape plus size made it perfect as an accent table in our foyer. Maybe someday, when I finally find the right guy, I’ll have the same adventures with our children plus grandkids that I have had with that root beer table.

A couple of years ago, a tree fell in the backyard and one of the branches hit the roof above the living room.

That was a small leak at the time.

I called a couple of roofing companies for estimates on the damage. They wanted almost $1,000 to fix a 1 inch hole. I thought that was a crazy amount of money, so I decided to do the work on my own. A roofing contractor would have done a better job, but I managed to stop the leak and seal the hole. The next summer, we had several tropical storms and the hole began to leak again. This time the roof was leaking and two separate areas. I waited until the weekend and I went back up on the roof to fix the problems. I had to put a tarp over the area that was leaking, because I was on able to patch the hole on my own. After three years of repairs, I thought it might be time to contact someone about a new roof. My wife agreed that it was a good idea and we started contacting several roofing contractors in the area. Most of the roofing contractors offered to give us a free estimate on the repairs. We got three roofing contractors to give us an estimate. One of the estimates was much higher than the other two. The other estimates were close to each other. We picked the company with the best reviews, even though that place turned out to be one of the more expensive estimates that we received for the roof. The roof replacement is scheduled to begin next Monday.

I think I am going to need to invest in a shed air conditioning system

My area is so hot that it is unpleasant… I used to live in the north as well as summer time was the highlight every year, then the two of us would maybe get around 2 weeks of hot outdoor weather. It wasn’t hot enough to warrant owning an air conditioning system, and however, it was nice having a window fan blowing cool air across me… Quickly the afternoons became cold as well as it was time for heating again; Now that I moved down south, I miss the cold weather sporadically. It is hot all the time here. The Wintertide season is maybe 2 weeks. I basically run my A/C plan 24/7. The summer time is just unbearably hot, but everyday it is 90 degrees by 4pm. I unquestionably enjoy to workout in my outdoor shed! Unluckyly I don’t want to splurge on a cooling system. That means my shed is consistently around 72 degrees every time I labor out. I check the local weather as well as it is 72 degrees by 10am everyday… Really the best temperature to labor out would be around 4am as well as it still isn’tthat cool, however during this time of year I just expect to feel hot as well as sick everyday. I don’t have a swimming pool either. I think I am going to need to invest in a shed air conditioning system. I also will need to adjust my life to the heat. That means I will need to be active at night as well as maybe sleep during sunlight hours. I need to channel what my cat does since he seems to be the smartest 1 in the house.
