Ed is my Heating & A/C worker.

He told myself and others about the air cleaner, the only thing I could think about was that it was a very costly and new air filter. Ed wanted myself and others to install a HEPA air filter instead of the genetic style of air filters I had been using. I told Ed that wasn’t what I wanted & asked if I could not just put the HEPA air filter into my furnace & the central AC unit. Ed told myself and others that installing a HEPA air filter wasn’t that straightforward, then unless you have a newer Heating & A/C system, they didn’t make the old style of Heating & A/C systems to accept HEPA air filters. The HEPA air filter was thicker & had a much heavier weave, which is why they can filter out a lot more dander, dirt, dust, debris, allergens, & other things that get in the air. Ed said an air filter can capture the mold spores, however they can’t kill them. That’s where the HEPA air filter comes in clutch. They built our Heating & A/C proposal before people knew about the HEPA air filters. The prices are a whole lot higher, & most people don’t want that expense. With a new air cleaner, you get the HEPA air filter, & an added UV light which will kill every mold spore, mildew & other nasties that could escape into the air. I still wanted to just put a HEPA air filter into my old Heating & A/C system, even though Ed wasn’t buying it, & I wasn’t buying his pitch to have an air purification proposal installed. Maybe I was being stubborn, but I had lived with all the nasties in the air for all these years, & decided an air purification proposal simply wasn’t for me.

All of us talked about the dust in the air & how our baby’s asthma seemed to get worse.

After Sven went to task the next morning, I got on the PC to the Heating & A/C business. I was going to have them check out our old Heating & A/C proposal to see if we could get a whole-house air purification proposal installed. When the HVAC receptionist asked me for the address, she asked if I had called earlier? I told her I hadn’t & asked why. She told myself and others that someone named Sven had called earlier that morning & made the same request. I called my husband & asked if he had already placed an order for an air cleaner. Sven said he had, & he was going to tell myself and others that morning when he got home. I rolled my eyes & simply told Sven thanks for letting myself and others know, & I just tried to do the exact same thing. Two mornings later, the Heating & A/C workers were inspecting our Heating & A/C system. He told us we could have the whole-house sized air purification installed & began asking questions about the UV light & HEPA air filters. Sven seemed to think what he was talking about, even though I was clueless. After explaining how the UV lights helped to kill what got through the HEPA air filter, I was cheerful that we chose both in the air cleaner. I could not believe the difference in how well our baby was breathing once the whole-house air purification proposal was installed.

I knew my ranch house was quite dusty. All of us lived in a section where the dirt roads were dirt roads. They didn’t do oil slicks during the Spring, & so the nearest pavement was more than two miles away on the state highway. All you needed was a light breeze, & then the dust was back in the house. My concern was that the dust was so bad, it was clinging to itself, & making it seem like a mohair blanket on all my cupboards. The grease from cooking caused that mohair blanket to build up an oil sheen to it, & I could not clean it. I hired a pro cleaner to get rid of the dirt & dust, however they told myself and others to call the local Heating & A/C business. If I had this much dust in the house, there could be a concern with the air ductwork or the furnace themselves. I heeded their advice & called the Heating & A/C business. I told them about the dust & the heavy grease. When the Heating & A/C worker arrived, he said that I needed a hood fan that would send the grease outside instead of pushing it back into the air. He then checked my air duct & asked when it had last been cleaned. I could not tell him if the air duct had ever been cleaned before. The next morning, I had a team of professional air duct cleaners cleaning & sanitizing all of my air ducts. Lucky thing they were there, because they found some holes in the air duct & repaired them while doing the air duct cleaning. I still have dust in my house, however it has a cleaner aroma, & the furniture isn’t sporting mohair blankets.

I thought replacing a dirty air filter in an Heating & A/C proposal should be fairly straight-forward for me to handle.

I just open the air filter compartment, take out the old air filter, & put a new air filter inside.

Simple? Am I Right? Well, Not for me. I had a strenuous time getting the air filter compartment open. Once I got the hatch opened, the air filter was totally stuck inside, & the dust & dirt got all over everything. I tried to vacuum up the mess, even though I feared that it had gotten into the furnace, & I knew some components wouldn’t handle that really well. I was going to put a new air filter into the furnace, even though I felt anxious that if the dirt was there, I could ruin the furnace. I called the Heating & A/C supplier & asked them about my air filter dilemma. The person who answered the PC said it should be okay to put a new air filter in, although she wanted myself and others to talk to a certified Heating & A/C worker. Wouldn’t you think it, however they put my sibling on the PC? He asked how he could help, & he laughed as soon as he heard my voice. He said that he would be a professional Heating & A/C worker until he heard me, even though he had to giggle. I was the only person he knew who could turn increasing an air filter into a reason to bother the Heating & A/C supplier for help. Not only did he come to the house to clean up the big mess I made, even though he appreciated telling the story when we all got together for a meal that weekend. No matter what, I will never call the HVAC supplier again when I make a stupid mistake.

When I came back from overseas, I had a disability. I had lost my left arm in an accident. It had nothing to do with the military or the war, however an insane accident because I wasn’t paying attention. I was actually working on an industrial Heating & A/C device & not paying close attention to what I was doing. One of the other workers yelled caution, even though I had my headphones on. The next thing I knew, I came awake in an army hospital with my arm missing. When I came home, I didn’t assume anyone would want a 1-armed Heating & A/C pro. I could still do my job & had trained myself to task with only 1 arm. It wasn’t that simple a job, even though I had to do it. With a lot of rehabilitation & even more guts, I was finally going to rejoin mankind again. I went to the local Heating & A/C business, & they greeted myself and others love I was some kind of war hero, even though I was just a simple screw-up & I explained what had happened to my arm. The owner of the Heating & A/C biz asked if I could do my job, & I asked him to let myself and others prove it. He took myself and others on a few Heating & A/C emergencies & always refused to help out. I repaired the furnace & had it running in record time, in both instances. I knew he was feeling hesitant to hire myself and others when he asked if I had l acquired any lessons after losing my dominant arm. I told him I l acquired how to task with 1 hand, & to never wear headphones or earbuds when I was at work with industrial Heating & A/C devices & sloppy workers. He still hired me.

There has only been 1 constant rule in our house, & that was not to lie, everyone made mistakes, however you had to own up to them.

Once you told that 1st lie, you had to continue to lie to cover the first lie you started with… My son Joe broke that rule numerous weeks ago. Joe kept telling us he had a job, & he was actually working at the local Heating & A/C business… Neither of us believed Joe, because he possessed no skills for a task with the local Heating & A/C business. When he said he was sweeping & studying the inventory, it made a little more sense, even though he never came house dirty & looked just as fresh as when he left for work. Some nights, Joe would come house late‌, however my husband wouldn’t question him about it. Joe told myself and others the boy was eighteen, & we had to give him some leeway. Joe was living with us, & I was sure he was lying about his job. I followed Joe 1 morning, which made my husband miserable. I wanted to think what Joe was absolutely doing. When he went into the community university, I was dumbstruck. Why would my son be lying & telling myself and others he was going to task when he was in school? This made no sense. I went to my husband with what he had l acquired, even though he said nothing to me; Later on that night, he said Joe was going to school for Heating & A/C, & actually working his way through school by working part-time at the local Heating & A/C business. Joe wanted to surprise myself and others when he graduated in more than five months.

Our son Ben told us he wanted to go to the Heating & A/C trade school.

I was anxious with his choice of careers because of the difficulties Ben had at private school.

Ben was in the special needs classes because of his lack of expertise. He had to task more than two times more strenuously than most students to get through his studies & retain what he was studying. I thought Ben was setting himself up for failure, however my husband told myself and others to stay out of it. It was Ben’s decision to go to Heating & A/C technical school, & he was sure Ben would be fine. I’m not sure who those first weeks were more hard on; myself and others or Ben. I was constantly fretting that he was going to come house & tell myself and others they had kicked him out of class, even though he never did. Ben holed up in the den with his father, & they studied together. After more than five or 6 weeks, he was understanding what he was doing & doing it well… By the end of the year, Ben was at the top of his class, & going out on training sessions with his Heating & A/C class instructor. The next hurdle he had to overcome was the certification classes, however once again, Ben & his father were in the den, studying together nearly every night. When the instructor asked Ben to be the apprentice at his Heating & A/C business, I wasn’t sure who was more proud: Ben or his father. I think Ben commented he owed it all to his father, who had actually become just as an Heating & A/C worker as he did over the past 16 months.

I knew a person whose last name was Sister.

He and I lived across the road from each other, & he enjoyed laying outside. He was such a nice guy so he & I would often sit on the porch & chat long into the night before he moved in with his 3 daughters, almost a hundred miles away. After I got my certification as an Heating & A/C worker, I looked for a permanent position with one of the local Heating & A/C businesses. When I saw that the Sisters Heating & A/C supplier was hiring, I immediately thought of my friend Mr. Sister, who lived across the street, & wondered if they were related. I went into the Sisters Heating & A/C supplier & put in a job application. I didn’t assume I would get a response immediately, even though I was incorrect. Two mornings later, I was called to go in for an interview. The Heating & A/C team was friendly when I walked in, & they all asked if I was the new Heating & A/C recruit. I explained how I was just there for an interview. The 1 guy told myself and others that the 1 sister was a real piece of task & if I wasn’t careful, they would chew myself and others up, & spit myself and others back out. I thought they were only trying to frighten myself and others off, & it almost worked. When I sat down in the main office, a person walked in. She was almost more than five and a half feet tall, & dressed in an Heating & A/C uniform. Two minutes later, multiple more ladies came in. when they said it was the Sisters Heating & A/C Company, they meant it. They were identical triplets & all Heating & A/C workers. I got questioned by all of them, & I must have given them the answers they wanted to hear. They hired myself and others that same morning.

For the last 4 years, my partner Sam had been looking for the perfect job, but when her boss offered Sam a transfer & a major new title, she could not resist, however i was an Heating & A/C worker & knew I could find a decent job wherever we lived.

What I didn’t plan on was finding a new job the 1st morning after we moved! All of us were supposed to be moving into our new home when the friend came over to introduce himself.

All of us were talking about Sam’s job, & he asked what I was going to do? He was an affable guy, & I told him I was a certified Heating & A/C worker! He laughed & said that was amazing. His kid ran a Heating & A/C shop, & they were looking to hire a man. He offered myself and Sam her supplier card & asked myself and others to call her, however that morning, I was inside the Heating & A/C supplier owner’s office, waiting for him to arrive, but she arrived a minute after I sat down & apologized for being late. I had seen no other Heating & A/C workers hanging around, & I thought this may be a new business. She told myself and others they had been established for more than a decade, & now she was looking for a fine man. I asked her how multiple Heating & A/C workers they had, & she told myself and others there were ten, however there were still some buyers who preferred a male Heating & A/C worker over a female. She asked if I was interested in being the only dude in an all girl Heating & A/C business? I didn’t need to assume any more about it. I just asked if she could hold the job for a couple of mornings while Sam and I finished moving. I started actually working in an all girl Heating & A/C supplier a few days later.

I was back to slinging paint with my buddy, who owns a painting company and had some work for me while I am here in town. I heard all about the latest and greatest and most of it was about money and things. I am happy I am not in this money machine like I was. Seems like all everyone does is update this and that on their house and buy newer and bigger cars. It feels as though they are never happy where they are and are always looking for ways to spend their money. The local business my buddy owns could support me for a long time just with a month of work. But for him, it is only enough to pay half of his bills each month. He is a local contractor and does HVAC equipment repairs and new installations, and his wife also works full time at her job. They have three kids and he told me they need to pull in $15k a month to survive, and I thought I had a lot of bills at $1250 a month! Wow, I could work one month a year doing heating and cooling repairs like he does and take off the rest of the year. I live a very simple life and have a lot of free time on my hands, unlike my buddy who seems to have filled every last minute with an obligation or some kind of work. I do some HVAC technology sales sometimes to make a little money but nothing like my friend has to do constantly.
