Changing apartment to a transitional style

My spouse designed our household and I constantly hated it… She was a large fan of floral patterns! The whole household was one large flower, then all the material used was itchy and scratchy too, however i thought it kind of looked like a cross between a little kids book and an ancient lady’s house.

It just wasn’t to my taste, and when my buddy and I divorced she didn’t want the house.

I inherited that mess. I fixed everything that was broken, old, and inconvenient. Then it came to make it my own location. I realized that I knew next to nothing about decor, however how do you change a household that is so bad in the first location too? I looked around and I found an interior design dealer in my area. They do all sorts of things like traditional, transitional, southwest, and classic style. I wanted something that was modern, masculine, and would rest the test of time. Turns out I like a traditional type that was black, white, and oranges. The interior designer helped me opening out fabrics that I liked, furniture that suited my frame, and also changed all the ugly decor. The household now looks like a normal home. It does not scream bachelor pad or a divorced person either. I could literally sell the household as is to a wide range of people. I am so much more comfortable in a household that is decorated to my tastes. I wonder if my ex spouse would like what was done to it or would hate it.
