Changing home to a traditional style

My wife designed our house and I always hated it. She was a big fan of floral patterns. The whole house was one giant flower. All the material used was itchy and scratchy too. I thought it kind of looked like a cross between a little kids book and an old lady’s house. It just wasn’t to my taste. When we divorced she didn’t want the house. I inherited that mess. I fixed everything that was broken, outdated, and inconvenient. Then it came to make it my own place. I realized that I knew next to nothing about decor. How do you change a house that is so bad in the first place too? I looked around and I found an interior design company in my area. They do all sorts of things like traditional, transitional, southwest, and classic style. I wanted something that was modern, masculine, and would stand the test of time. Turns out I like a traditional style that was black, white, and blues. The interior designer helped me pick out fabrics that I liked, furniture that suited my frame, and also changed all the ugly decor. The house now looks like a normal home. It doesn’t scream bachelor pad or a divorced man either. I could literally sell the house as is to a wide range of people. I am so much more comfortable in a house that is decorated to my tastes. I wonder if my ex wife would like what was done to it or would hate it.
