I have no idea how I have such bad luck when it comes to wood stoves.
When I was a little girl, I tried helping my parents out by adding wood to our wood stove one evening.
My parents were in the other room, so they did not even know that I did it. I didn’t mention it to them because I thought that I was doing something sweet. I had all nice intentions, however what I didn’t realize was that I didn’t close the door all of the way, plus a piece of wood fell out. It was on fire, so it caught the rug on the floor on fire, and thankfully, my dad found the fire before it got too big. I had eveningmares about that for years. My hubby plus I obtained a home with a wood stove years ago. I absolutely appreciate the aroma of a wood burning stove. It reminds me of home because I grew up having a wood stove. Somehow, I managed to catch my home on fire with our wood stove as well. I have no idea how I did it this time. I just woke up in the middle of the evening to a fire. It was the scariest thing that I have ever experienced. I am so cheerful that my buddy and I were able to get out of the house. We were able to save the house, however my wood stove was detrimentd quite a bit. I refuse to use a wood stove now. I am too afraid of them, plus I feel that I have nice reason to be afraid of them.
