I did not find the rodent in the HVAC duct, but I did see some poop

I did not see any evidence of mice or rats anywhere, but I did see some evidence of droppings

A lady called me because she thought that she heard noises in the HVAC duct. A lot of times noises in the HVAC duct can be explained by the movement and shifting of the ducting itself, and just because you hear noises in the HVAC duct, does not mean that you have a problem with mice or rats or other indoor vermin, and my company handles lots of heating and air conditioner repairs and I have only seen infestations a few times; Each 1 of those times was a separate opportunity that was even worse than the first, then when I received a call from the residential customer, I knew that she was expecting me to evaluate the HVAC duct… I took all of the items necessary to handle the job. I have a special camera at the end of a stretchy stick and I use that camera to view the inside of the duct work throughout the house. It’s a relaxing way to see inside of the HVAC duct without taking anything apart. I searched all over the duct work for several hours. I did not see any evidence of mice or rats anywhere, but I did see some evidence of droppings. It’s hard to tell if those droppings are outdated or new, so I told the owner of the lake house that she should call an exterminator just to be safe if she was feeling worried. I did not want to be wrong about the mice or rats, but I was pretty particular that she did not have an infestation. The noises entirely came from the air conditioner or creaking floorboards in the house.
