I honestly don’t understand why you don’t want to replace your central air conditioner. I met someone recently that didn’t want to replace their central air conditioner. As HVAC technicians, we can usually tell when a central air conditioner needs to be replaced, but honestly, most people can figure it out when a central air conditioner needs to be replaced. If you need to have an HVAC technician repair your central air conditioner more than once a year, then you probably have an old central air conditioner that needs to be replaced. A central air conditioner that is constantly breaking down is usually a sign that your central air conditioner is getting old, and it is no longer worth pouring money into that central air conditioner. In the long run, you will save money by simply replacing your central air conditioner. When I told the guy this, he said that he would not replace his central air conditioner. However, he did not plan to fix his central air conditioner either. He just decided that he didn’t want a central air conditioner anymore. I haven’t heard anyone do that before. It shocked me. After using a central air conditioner for so long, why would you stop using a central air conditioner?
