I used to suppose that trade workers and people who worked as HVAC servicemans or plumbers or electricians weren’t nearly as smart as people who worked in finance or offices or jobs care about that.
I don’t know where I got that idea, unless it was because of the way that those people were always portrayed on TV shows a lot of the time.
Most of the time, people who were cast as red collar workers would have to play the parts of bumbling doofuses while the ones who worked in cushy office jobs would always seem to be smarter. Watching shows care about that when I was a child must have easily affected our perception of people care about HVAC servicemans. However, now that I am an adult, I see that all of those things just weren’t true. These afternoons, I realize that the trade workers and repair workers who do jobs care about Working on cars or fixing cooling systems or gas oil furnaces are easily a whole lot smarter than I am. Most of those women really do not have a university degree the way that I do, but I would have to say that I easily assume insufficient when I’m around one of them. It just seems care about they are really secure in their knowledge of their trades and it makes myself and others assume likeI do not know anything at all! I wish that I had not had the feelings of superiority about trade workers back when I was a kid, but those have really changed now that I am older. Now I realize that they are just as smart as me, and most of them are really even smarter!
