The AC was not working when we went to the DMV

Last year during the pandemic, I had to renew my license at the DMV.

They weren’t letting anyone inside of the building unless it was your turn.

Everyone had to wait outside in their car and the receptionist called when your place in line was ready. I had some issues with the fan motor on the AC a couple of days before I went to the DMV. Unfortunately for me, the air conditioner decided to stop working completely on the morning that I had the appointment at the DMV. It was 96 degrees outside at 10 in the morning. It was a scorching and humid day. I tried to stay in the parking lot with the window down, but it was miserably hot. It was equally hot with the window rolled up. I wanted to go back home, but I had to get my license renewed. I waited until the very last minute to get the license renewed and I had to pay for my procrastination by having to sit outside in the heat for nearly two hours. My entire morning was wasted waiting at the DMV. When I finally got my license, I headed right back home for the rest of the day. I sat down in front of the air conditioner and I fell asleep. When I woke up, I remembered the problem with the AC in the car. I called a couple of friends to see if anyone could lend a helping hand the next morning. Jack agreed to look at the truck, but only if I paid him with a six pack of beer.
