Somebody found the stolen AC at a pawn shop

About a week ago, I went on a week-long vacation with some friends.

  • The two of us went to the Tropical Islands & we were gone for 6 afternoons.

When I came home, I found out that our condo had been burglarized. Several items were stolen while I was in the robbery, including a brand modern PC, smartphone, & a window AC unit that was only a week old. I contacted the police as soon as I got home. Since I had no way of knowing when the burglary occurred, it was strenuous for the police to track down any information. They did tell myself and others that they would check pawn shops for our air conditioner. They felt that was the best locale to start. I did not hear anything at all from the police officer until a few weeks later. I received a call from 1 of the detectives. He wanted myself and others to come down to the station to discuss the stolen items. He asked a lot of questions about the window AC unit. I asked if they had reuseed the equipment, however they would not give myself and others any straight answers. I had all of the paperwork from when I purchased the window AC unit a week before the robbery. I gave all of the information to the detectives. I had the name, make, model, & the serial number of the unit that was stolen. The next afternoon I received a call from the same detective. He found the AC unit at a pawn shop in the next town. Thanks to the information that I offered, they were able to identify the unit & the name of the person that pawned the item in question.
