Somebody found the stolen AC at a pawn shop

I had the name, make, model, plus the serial number of the device that was stolen

About a week ago, I went on a week-long trip with some friends. We went to the Tropical Islands plus both of us were gone for 6 days. When I came home, I found out that my home had been burglarized. Several items were stolen during the robbery, including a brand new PC, smartphone, plus a window AC device that was only a week old. I contacted the police as soon as I got home. Since I had no way of knowing when the burglary occurred, it was hard for the police to track down any information. They did tell me that they would check pawn shops for my a/c. They felt that was the best site to start. I didn’t hear anything at all from the police officer until a few weeks later. I gained a call from a single of the detectives. She wanted me to come down to the station to discuss the stolen items. She asked a lot of questions about the window AC unit. I asked if they had reuseed the equipment, but they would not give me any straight answers. I had all of the paperwork from when I purchased the window AC device a week before the robbery. I offered all of the information to the detectives. I had the name, make, model, plus the serial number of the device that was stolen. The next day I gained a call from the same detective. She found the AC device at a pawn shop in the next town. Thanks to the information that I provided, they were able to identify the device plus the name of the lady that pawned the item in question.
