We put a ductless HVAC system in our new attic room

We’ve been renovating our home slowly for the last decade, however this hasn’t been an easy process, but it’s something we remain committed to doing.

My partner and I first came across the property when going to see a friend, however all of us happened to drive by this home that was neglected and run down. To anyone else, it looked like the worst thing to buy; however, we saw things differently. All of us wanted to make this our new home so we began making inquiries about it. The family that owned the home had also been trying to get rid of it for years, and they even made a better deal once they realized we were dire buyers, and it would be another 3 years before we had it in livable conditions and moved in… Now, a decade later, we finally completed the attic master suite. This was a huge area at the top of the home that required so much work, and on top of that, we had to sort out the heating and cooling situation in this space of the house. Other parts would be served by the central heating and air conditioning system; but we had to find a strange heating and cooling solution for the attic. A buddy who is an actual heating and air conditioning expert came by to inspect the area once the renovation job was complete. His suggestion was we go for a ductless plan for this vast space. Modern mini-split ACs require no HVAC duct, and are powerful enough to cool or even heat such a space. The best space was that we didn’t have to worry about extra HVAC duct which would cost money.
