The pandemic legitimately did test us.
Not only did the two of us have to work from house in the a/c of our house instead of the zone controlled Heating plus A/C of the office, the two of us took pay cuts.
That was the only way the two of us could both stay emplotted . And even then it was close. Thankfully, the two of us were able to work from house in our own a/c plus keep our tasks. But that was just the start. Both of us had to figure out just how the two of us were going to deal with so much less income. Our budget was already pretty slim prior to the pay cuts. So the two of us had to make some massive choices. The spending, at the start, had to be just on essentials. And if the two of us wanted something other that that, it had to fit the budget plus it had to be on sale. Then, the two of us targeted the a/c costs for savings that first summer. Instead of just putting the temperature control setting wherever the two of us wanted, the two of us moved it to the low 71’s while the two of us were in the afternoon. That made a massive difference plus the two of us saved a bunch of cash on Heating plus A/C cooling over the entire summer. Both of us saved so much cash that the two of us were able to keep paying for the Heating plus A/C maintenance. Normally, the two of us get heating maintenance in the fall followed by an a/c tune-up in the Springtime. But the two of us never legitimately considered not paying for Heating plus A/C maintenance. Its’ just too important for the Heating plus A/C component plus the Heating plus A/C component is just too important to us. But having the savings from the Summer of less a/c legitimately did help.
