With my fiance, I have to be certainly persistent when it comes to getting stuff that we need.

He’s the one who is consistently sad about spending money.

And I’m more like what’s the use of having money if you don’t use it. So the fact that it took almost a decade to get a smart control unit is a good example of how resistant he can be. When the smart control unit came out, I was intrigued. I liked the idea of Heating as well as A/C technology that I didn’t have to worry about. The smart control unit was Heating as well as A/C technology that would allow us to sort of walk away from managing the heating as well as cooling output. And that’s for sure something we both have done since we became homeowners. We agree on money when it comes to saving on stuff that we don’t need to overpay. But with the smart control unit, all we had to do was let it learn our patterns, adjust and save more money. It was a no brainer. But of course, my spouse found every reason possible to resist. Thanks to my acting skills, we now have the smart control unit. The old digital control unit can’t even compare. I should have thought of that a decade ago. Regardless, once the digital control unit was in place, my husband was the first one to control it from his seat despite having the first opponent of Heating & A/C technology.

It’s not all that easy being a parent.

When we started our family, we thought we wanted a certainly immense family with like 8 youngsters. Thankfully, we stopped at four. And still, with four youngsters, there isn’t a ton of time to just soak up the air conditioner in the quiet. The ironic thing about that is both my fiance as well as I are certainly quiet people. This is one of the reasons we’ve been so compatible. And actually, this is how we met. Instead of partying through university, we would be reading our favorite books in the corner of the library where the air conditioner worked best. My fiance was the same way as well as we sort of ended up as partners right from the jump. So having a home full of ladies of all things, is genuinely an added twist to our lives. When the pandemic started, we all entirely did pretty well when it came to respecting each other. My friend and I had to share the heating as well as cooling of our condo for over a year. My partner and I were working from the house just as the kids took their online lessons here. I found that I still needed a place to just take a breath and be alone. When I turned 50, everything just changed. Looking back now, I obviously ignored lots of the warning signs that were obvious so it is not surprising that I didn’t see it coming. Actually, I am starting over from scratch in a tiny household out in the woods. I’m doing some consulting however money certainly isn’t a problem as my life is just so easy. However, I’m happy to have a ductless heat pump for the air conditioner in this cabin. And that’s about as extravagant as I get these days.

I have to say that this summer time was the most comfortable since we’ve been living away from the cities.

Living off the grid has been something of a lifeline pursuit that I made happen.

It was a mixture of being persistent for any of this to happen. Even with all the knowledge, understanding as well as good planning, it still comes down to money. I was working from inside the commercial Heating as well as A/C for a company that I just had no interest in. While I was gleeful to have honed my skills inside the zone controlled Heating as well as A/C of the office, that’s as far as it went. As you might imagine, I’m not exactly a corporate sort of man. But I had to have the money. Then, just as I was thinking I’d never get there, a relative died as well as left me almost the exact amount of money that I needed to finalize my transfer off the grid. That’s been a bit more than a decade ago as well as I’ve learned a lot along the way. I am now able to do all of my work from my household thanks to satellite WIFI. That was a big bonus as the alternative would be driving to the nearest town just to get a signal for work. The other thing was putting in a ductless heat pump this Spring. It’s funny how life works out.

Of course, like everyone else, I didn’t see the pandemic coming.

But it happened and I had to adjust just like everyone else in the world. Almost instantly, the company closed the offices and all workers were sent home to figure out how to work remotely. That meant no more zone controlled Heating and A/C for me. And that wasn’t the best because I had to share one space with the kids who didn’t want to home-school in a different part of the house. Besides, my partner and I were both trying to share the office in our home yet we had two varying styles of working. Ultimately, this led me to working on transforming the basement. The first thing I had to do though was to get some good heating and cooling down there. The Heating/ A/C company came and installed a ductless heat pump for me as the start. Over the first months of that summer, I started filling out that basement office more & more. Working from the apartment worked for me. So when the eventual sack letters came, I was prepared for the eventuality. For years before, I had planned to leave the company I worked for and probably venture out as a freelance expert. Some would consider this consulting but I’m more into service provision. Even so, I knew that I would have to start from the house with some of my friends. So the pandemic sort of offered me a head start on what has become a rather successful gig for me. Besides the success, I’m pleased to be working for myself and finally following my dreams.

If you know nothing about the heat and air conditioning systems and how it works and how should I explain heating and cooling to you in a way that makes sense? Well this is one of the problems that I ran into frequently as a heating and air conditioning technician.

I just had a client today asked me how exactly she should repair her air conditioning system, she wanted advice on exactly how it worked so that she could fix it. The problem is this was that for one, she didn’t know anything about air conditioning systems like it all. She didn’t even know that you were supposed to change an air filter! So while I tried to explain it to her I could tell that she was having a hard time grasping the information I was giving to her because she had no experience with air conditioning systems. The second reason I told her she shouldn’t be attempting to repair her own air conditioning system is because of how dangerous it could be as well as the risk of her further dam machine and if she doesn’t know what she’s doing, which in her case she didn’t. For her this is enough to dissuade her from continuing to think about repairing her AC herself and for most people this is enough to dissuade them. However this is not the case for everybody. I remember a guy repairing his own heating and cooling system himself and he decided to go and do it anyway and he ended up in the hospital after he accidentally injured himself. If there is anything that can be allergic from this lesson then it is that heating and AC system to the professionals.

There comes a time when you are just ready for a change.

• I guess for me it is my time because I’m ready for a change in my life.

I’ve been living in the same climate for most of my life but I’m really craving something different. For most of my life I’ve been living in a very cold climate but I’m really wanting something warm. I want to say goodbye to all this coldness and enjoy the Sun. Where I live it’s cold 8 months out of the year, and in my opinion that’s way too long. I know some people that love it here and they come here just because of the cold. I have some friends who live in more tropical humid climates and they tell me that they come here to escape the heat, they say that there’s too much heat where they live and they really want to enjoy the cold for once. I guess either side of the spectrum can be too extreme, you don’t want to be too hot and living in a hot climate all the time but at the same time you don’t want to be living in a super cold climate all the time either. The problem is when you live in a cold climate like I do, you have to deal with a lot of heating and cooling tune-ups. Well actually, it’s pretty much all heating too enough because pretty much nobody uses their air conditioning system here. In fact I know a lot of people that don’t even have an air conditioning system. Around here it’s all about the heating and furnace maintenance. The HVAC businesses make a lot of money off of heating and furnace repairs.

I can’t wait until I can move to a much warmer climate.

In fact, I don’t even know why I continue to stay here as long as I do.

It’s just way too cold. The thing is I grew up in the northern part of the United States and so you would think that I would be used to the cold weather by now. But I guess I’m just one of those people that never did adjust to it. When I was a kid I remember going outside in the yard to make snowmen and throwing snowballs at my siblings, and now, I guess it’s just because I’m older but I can’t even go outside without putting on a heavy jacket. Not in this climate anyways. I’ve been looking at a lot of these warm southern tropical States that make great vacation spots. I’ve been dreaming for quite some time now to live in one of these places, and just say goodbye to the cold for good. Eventually it occurred to me that I need to stop dreaming about going there and actually make it a reality if it’s what I really wanted to do. So that’s what I started working towards doing, after looking for a little while I got hired out of state, and now in a few months I’ll be moving south and I’ll be saying goodbye to this cold weather once and for all. Did you know that in that area they have heating and air conditioning systems that are combined into one unit? How nice it is that they don’t even have to have a dedicated furnace! Even more reason why I can’t wait to get out of here. If I had to tell you how many times I had to have furnace repairs done to my heating system every year I’d be writing a book!

Never underestimate the power of a space heater. I absolutely love space heaters because of how warm they can become when they heat up your room, and how much cheaper they are than running your central heating system. A little bit of background, I live in a very cold climate and around here it’s very important to have a good heating system. Unless you plan to freeze during the icy cold winter months, you’re going to want to make sure that you have your heating system completely tuned up and prepared for the cold winter. Well I didn’t know it, but I had totally forgotten to have my heating system tuned up for that year. Obviously not having your heater turned up before the winter when you live in a very cold climate is a terrible idea. The problem came when I had already marked on my schedule that I had had it done. I could have sworn than I had already had a heating and a seat professional come out to my house and tune it up. I have a calendar on my wall that I Mark all upcoming events on, and I thought that I’d already marked on there that I had a heating and AC worker come out and tune up my heating system. But this was very wrong, I accidentally marked my calendar as having it done but I had never had it done. It was a case of bad memory. Unfortunately, as a result of this incident of forgetting I had my central heating system breakdown when the cold winter did come around. I woke up in the middle of the night and I found myself freezing cold. I had to warm myself up quickly and I remembered the space heater. I quickly plugged in the space heater and turned it on and within minutes the room was nice and toasty again. It saved me from having to call emergency HVAC services which was great.

My friends and I were hanging out a few months ago and we decided to go to a bar to have some drinks. I was only planning to have a couple of drinks, but the game was on and I didn’t stop drinking until I was completely drunk. Since my apartment is only a couple of miles away from the bar, I foolishly and stupidly decided to drive home. I crashed my car into a tree and a state police officer happened to be driving by. The guy stopped and gave me a field sobriety test. I failed miserably and then I had to go to the hospital and have my blood alcohol level taken. I got a DUI for driving under the influence and I was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine. I also lost my license for 6 months. Losing my license was the biggest problem. I work for a local heating and AC repair business. The heating and AC repair business is located on the other side of town. I used to drive to the heating and AC repair business near me, but now I have to take the bus. I have to get up an hour earlier than I did in the past, so I can make sure that there is plenty of time for me to get to the bus. It’s a real pain in the butt having to take the bus to my job at the heating and AC repair business. I will think twice next time I am drinking with my friends.
