Today the HVAC industry is quite strict

Brad loves hearing the older technicians talk about the early days in the HVAC industry.

The world today is vastly different from the world of the 70s and 80s.

In fact, Brad wishes he could have experienced it. Everything in humanity today is so rigidly controlled, run by PCs and large corporations. During those early days, things weren’t as stringent, and it was commonplace for the HVAC technicians to bring a cooler full of beer with them to the worksite. Can you imagine getting away with that today? But it used to be standard practice. These days the HVAC industry is quite regimented as the Domino’s pizza delivery system. HVAC technicians are signed into work via their smart phones all through the shift. That way the GPS lets the bosses know where they are and what they are doing every moment of the day. Doesn’t that sound exhausting, having to account for every minute of your day? The older technicians were outlaws of heating and cooling repair, and the majority didn’t even have a certification. The only way Brad can see this task becoming more fun is if he ceases to work for a major business and starts working for a local HVAC company. Better still, he should start his own HVAC corporation where he can be the boss and set his own rules. Brad wouldn’t let his technicians drink beer at work, either, but at least he would be a cooler boss. This is a nice dream to have, but it takes a sizable amount of cash to become an HVAC corporation.
