Seeing a familiar face at the gym

Life has a funny way of working out sometimes.

When I was in high school I was one of the mean girls, I am ashamed to admit.

That was a long time ago, but my behavior at the time was pretty deplorable. In any event, I have changed my ways and settled down to be a nice, normal person. I hadn’t thought about the old days until recently, when I ran into a familiar face in a most unexpected place. One of the girls I was mean to back then was Glory. When the new gym opened, I went in to check out the facilities and ask about the membership fees. I saw Glory was working there as a personal trainer, and although her face was the same her body had been transformed into something magnificent. Glory had been overweight, which is why I had picked on her, so it was ironic to find her at the gym when I was the one who was out of shape. I swallowed my pride, walked over to Glory, and first I apologized for my past behavior, and then I asked her to be my personal trainer. She accepted my apology, but said that she was fully booked as a personal trainer and couldn’t take me on as a client yet. I’m not sure if that was true, or if Glory just wasn’t comfortable with being my personal trainer because of our past history. I will keep going to that gym in the meantime, and hopefully will show Glory that I have changed my ways.
