Early last summer was a big deal for my wife and I. That was due to the fact that we ended over a year without dining out. That’s a very big deal for us as we are pretty much serious foodies. Once we got our second vaccination, we felt freed from the air conditioning of our home. We both had to work from home during the pandemic. Both of our offices have zone controlled HVAC that we adore. So being sent home to work in our own air conditioning was sort of insult to injury. But we were also determined not to get the virus and do our best to not spread it if we were asymptomatic. So we stayed home and the thought of eating out just kept us motivated to get through that first year. We were lucky to catch a lull in the virus after we were vaccinated. The new variant hadn’t started wreaking havoc in our area yet so we made a beeline for the new restaurants in town. The first one we tried was a very mixed bag and it just didn’t need to be at all. The food was delectable. The service was first rate and the interior was just beautiful. Yet, I was sweating before the server even came to get our drink orders. The HVAC equipment was running full blast but simply couldn’t keep up. It’s just completely nonsensical to have less than great commercial HVAC in a restaurant. And what a shame too. I wasn’t the only one to experience the lack of sufficient HVAC equipment. That’s not a good sign and I doubt that place is going to last.
