Making the attic a bedroom with ductless HVAC

I am always ready and willing to help out my kids.

My only rule is that they can’t just come to me for a handout or leave a problem in my hands.

I’ll do dang near anything for my children but I also want them to be part of it too. So when my oldest daughter came to me about no longer sharing a room with her sister, I listened. We sat together alone in the air conditioning and she really laid it all out for me. She had lived with her sister since her sister was born. Now, she really wanted to have a space of her own. Plus, she was the middle child and really didn’t want to wait til her brother left the house to get her own room. So we got to thinking and that’s when she suggested moving into the attic. There was no heating and cooling up there but it was a finished room. There was electric and a plywood floor that she said she could cover with a rug. She even measured to see if a bed would fit through the smaller size door leading to the attic. We brought my wife into the conversation and it all seemed quite doable except I didn’t want her up there without quality heating and air. Again, this kid amazed me with how much she had thought this all out. She brought out information she’d printed off from the HVAC company website. It was all about ductless heat pumps and just what they could do. That daughter of mine is now up in the attic and happy as she can be. That ductless heat pump we had installed was even better than advertised.
