It’s that time of year again. I sort of have mixed emotions this time of year. When it’s September and I’m heading into the best part of the year, I’m always so excited. That’s because I know that soon, the heat pump will slow down and the need for all that HVAC cooling will wane. In the midst of all of that, the best weather in the world is at my fingertips. The fall and winter here are just lovely. The sky is so blue and the sun seems to shine every day. The temperatures are such that we rarely have to flip the thermostat over to HVAC heating. And I get to spend any or all of the day outside doing whatever I choose. That’s the sort of winter I just love. But now that the winter is over and spring is in full swing, I’m a bit like I was on Sunday when I was a kid. Instead of enjoying the end of the weekend, I was already thinking about school and the week ahead. That was a waste of a Sunday. And I feel similarly during the spring. Our weather is still so lovely with sunshine and warmer temperatures. But in my head, I’m already thinking about the blazing summer that is right around the corner. It’s hard not to since those four months are a challenge. This year though, I’m going to be ready to save more on the HVAC cooling costs that sort of wreck my checkbook in the summer. I got some great info from the HVAC professionals at the HVAC company on how to prepare the house. And I’m going to program the digital thermostat finally as well.
