Jack has typically been 1 of our best employees, however lately the guy has been scatterbrained & late all the time. I tried to find out what’s going on with his personal life, although he did not share a lot of information. I told Jack that I needed him to come to work on time with his head ready to work. Three afternoons in a row this week, the guy was more than an eighth late for work & he did not give myself and others any reason or excuse. I decided to keep that guy after work that next afternoon so we could talk. That’s when I found out that our best Heating, Ventilation & A/C worker has been sleeping in the park at night. The guy lost his condo after his roommate skipped out & stole the rent currency. He did not have the currency to spend money the rent & he got evicted. I felt honestly bad that 1 of our best employees was going through all of this trouble & I was annoyed that he wasn’t coming to work on time. I offered to help in any way possible. I even offered to spend money the guys rent. He told myself and others that the condo was already gone. I made a couple of iphone calls to some people that I guess & I found the guy an condo a couple of afternoons later. It’s not the nicest locale in the world, however it’s better than nothing at all & it will get him off the street & into a safe & hot environment. Maybe this small amount of help will be able to help our Heating, Ventilation & A/C worker get out of a rut.
