The day before yesterday, there was a terrible sound coming from the furnace room down in the basement and then there was a weird clunking sound that came up through the heating vents when I turned the thermostat up.
I always try to fix my heating system myself whenever it tears up. I guess I have great confidence in myself for some reason. I honestly don’t know why that is, though. It’s not like I have ever been good at fixing things around the house! I guess I just really feel like I need to keep trying so that I can save money on our repair bills. However, I have found in the past that sometimes I end up tearing things up even worse than they were to begin with. I don’t really know if it’s the best thing for me to keep on trying or for me to just go ahead and call in the professionals at the very beginning when troubles come! Anyway, we have been having issues with our furnace here and there over the past few years and I’ve basically been putting bandaids on the furnace to keep it running. It doesn’t run the best that it could, but it seems to get the job done. Up until now, it’s gotten the job done, anyway. I knew that this was a bad sign! Of course, when I went to check on the furnace, I could not figure out what the problem was. I decided that this time, I wasn’t even gonna try. Even though I usually always try to fix the heating system myself when it tears up, this time I did the right thing and called up the local HVAC company instead.
