I really want to be able to get my dad a nice gift for his birthday this year.
He’s a hard person to buy for, that’s for sure.
He’s one of those guys that is constantly doing everything that needs to be done himself. He never wants to be in debt to anyone and he never waits around for things to tear up. He fixes things and does maintenance on them immediately because he firmly believes in being a good steward of everything that he owns. I like that about him, and I’ve honestly tried to pattern my own life after him for the most part. But let me tell you, whenever you want to buy my dad a gift, it makes it really hard! I decided that I was going to find something great for his birthday this year or die trying! I did a lot of lurking around his house and I finally found something that my dad had not quite gotten around to updating himself. I realized that the thermostat unit in my dad’s house was old and kind of outdated. It was the same thermostat that was in his house whenever he and my mom moved into that particular house almost fifteen years ago. I don’t know how the thermostat somehow missed being updated by my dad, but it turned out to be a good thing for me! When I saw that the thermostat was old and kind of worn out, I knew right away that this was what I was going to get for my dad for his birthday. I called up the local HVAC company and ordered a brand new smart thermostat system for him.
