I’m never saying that freezing cold hotel again.
Because of my job I have to go on business trips every few months or so, I don’t mind and it allows me a chance to travel and my company pays for everything anyways.
I see it as a good opportunity. My wife, being the wonderful person that she is, is always kind enough to book my hotels for me so I don’t have to do it myself. She knows my taste well and always tries to pick one that she knows I’ll love. She chose a five-star hotel for me to stay at and I was already excited to go. Everything went fine on the trip up there but the problem started when I arrived. I noticed that as soon as I walked into the hotel lobby that the place was so cold. I’m not a person that’s sensitive to the cold at all but this type of cold was unbelievably cold even for me, it felt like it was 40 degrees there! I didn’t know the inside of a building could even get that cold unless you were intentionally trying to make the place like a freezer. Still, I figured I’d better turn on the heater in my room and it wouldn’t matter and I would get comfortable. Nope when I went to my hotel room I saw that my heater wouldn’t come on no matter what I did to turn it on. So I went down to the hotel desk and I asked him what was going on and why . The receptionist told me that the electric furnace at the hotel used to heat the place wasn’t working and they were having a difficult time getting an HVAC professional out to repair it, I was basically then told that I would just have to deal with the cold until they get somebody out here and they didn’t know when that would be. I stayed that night only because I had to. I didn’t have anywhere else to go. I didn’t want to book another hotel at the last minute. But I’m never staying at that place again. Not only did they have a very nonchalant I don’t care kind of attitude, but the entire night I could hardly sleep because of how cold it was. I was tired the next morning when I was to have my meeting. It made for a miserable experience.
