We wanted our furnace to last us quite a long time

For a few years now, my wifey and I have been putting off upgrading our furnace, and the furnace is aged.

It technically still heats our home, however it doesn’t run efficiently.

No matter what temperature we set, our monthly energy bills remain the same. Logically, we all knew that we had to upgrade the furnace because we were spending more money to heat our condo in the long run than if we had purchased a new furnace. We discussed our options with the Heating and Air Conditioning company when the time came to upgrade the furnace. In view of our condo and our heating needs, the Heating and Air Conditioning company recommended a few furnaces. First, a standard electric furnace, which would last between twenty and twenty five years. Then comes the gas furnace, which would last about 15 years. The Heating and Air Conditioning company suggested a ductless mini cut system. Those were reliable for a few to fifteen years. The life predictions were average and based on the way the furnace was cared for. Knowing these numbers helped us decide on an electric furnace. Our aged furnace was electric and it still worked well for us. It was just old. We wouldn’t have to upgrade the electric furnace for another twenty years if we got the new furnace.
