The old window a/c in my apartment was so loud it kept me up at night

I was happy when I found this apartment because it was the best location for the price compared to any other dwelling I looked at previously.

  • On top of that, the landlord was willing to forgive my credit rating being a little lower than average, but that has already improved in the time since.

As great as this place seemed at first, it was rife with problems. I had to push the landlord to finally fix a plumbing problem that I suspect he was neglecting with his previous tenant. Once that was finally addressed permanently, I had to get him to fix the broken window and the weatherstripping around the two doors that go in and out. This place surely wasn’t perfect, but at least it gave me a home for the foreseeable future. One thing I knew that needed to be replaced eventually was the old window air conditioner. While it was cold and never prevented me from staying comfortable, it was so loud that it kept me up at night whenever it would turn on again to cycle. This became so annoying that I eventually went out and purchased a brand new window air conditioner myself with my own money. I just put the old window a/c in a storage closet and will put it back where it was installed when I move out of this apartment someday. Aside from being much quieter, the new air conditioner uses less electricity to keep me feeling comfortably cool, even in the worst summer heat waves. I’m much happier with this new window air conditioner compared to the old one.
