My sibling saw an ad in the newspaper last week.
The ad started with the words, ‘How blessed are you?’ in bold print, & giant enough that even a blind person could see them. The local Heating, Ventilation, & A/C company was running a contest! You could win a brand current Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system, or your choice of a gas furnace or air conditioner unit. They were also donating an air purification plan to one blessed person, & a ductless Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system. Altogether, there were numerous unusual Heating, Ventilation, & A/C systems being given away. It cost $10 for a ticket, & the drawing was going to be on January 1. My mom was mulling over how blessed she was when dad got home. He told her there was no way she was going to win a current Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system, and even if she did, they had just purchased a brand current Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system, complete with a whole-apartment media air cleaner. The people I was with and I didn’t need another Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system, so she should save her money. Mom was thinking it would be a gift for Grandma & Grandpa, however dad said no. He would not donate money to the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C company when he had just paid for a current Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system. Mom shouted it was her money, & she could spend it any way she wanted. Mom stomped off to make brunch, & dad sat down with his newspaper; When he opened it up, there was the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C ad about the contest. I had to admit that it was hard to ignore, but I thought it was just another gimmick to get money off people.
