My sibling saw an ad in the newspaper last week.
The ad started with the words, ‘How lucky are you?’ in bold print, and sizable enough that even a blind woman could see them.
The local Heating, Ventilation & A/C supplier was running a contest, then you could win a brand current Heating, Ventilation & A/C system, or your choice of a oil furnace or a/c unit. They were also donating an air purification program to one lucky person, and a ductless Heating, Ventilation & A/C system. Altogether, there were several different Heating, Ventilation & A/C systems being given away. It cost $10 for a ticket, and the drawing was going to be on December 1. My Dad was mulling over how lucky she was when dad got home. She told her there was no way she was going to win a current Heating, Ventilation & A/C system, however even if she did, they had just obtained a brand current Heating, Ventilation & A/C system, complete with a whole-new home whole-house air purifier. The two of us didn’t need another Heating, Ventilation & A/C system, so she should save her money. Dad was thinking it would be a gift for Grandma and Grandpa, however dad said no. She would not donate money to the Heating, Ventilation & A/C supplier when she had just paid for a current Heating, Ventilation & A/C system. Dad shouted it was her money, and she could spend it any way she wanted. Dad stomped off to make brunch, and dad sat down with her newspaper, then when she opened it up, there was the Heating, Ventilation & A/C ad about the contest. I had to disclose that it was hard to ignore, but I thought it was just another gimmick to get money off people.
