We’ve been renovating our house slowly for the last decade.
This hasn’t been an easy process, but it’s something we remain committed to doing.
My wife and I first came across the property when visiting a friend. We happened to drive by this house that was neglected and run down. To anyone else, it looked like the worst thing to buy. However, we saw things differently. We wanted to make this our home so we began making inquiries about it. The family that owned the house had been trying to get rid of it for years, and they even made a better deal once they realized we were serious buyers. It would be another 3 years before we had it in livable conditions and moved in. Now, a decade later, we finally completed the attic master suite. This was a huge space at the top of the house that required so much work. On top of that, we had to sort out the heating and cooling situation in this part of the house. Other parts would be served by the central HVAC system. But, we had to find a different heating and cooling solution for the attic. A friend who is an HVAC expert came by to inspect the space once the renovation work was complete. His suggestion was we go for a ductless system for this vast space. Modern mini-split ACs require no ductwork, and are powerful enough to cool or even heat such a space. The best part was we didn’t have to worry about extra ductwork which would cost money.
