Heated floors or a furnace: Which is the most suitable system for my grandparents?

My grandparents adopted my siblings and me when our parents passed away when we were children.

  • We had the best lives with our grandparents.

They lived in a 10acre piece of land with a lot of farm animals that we would play with and feed every day. We went to a great school and during summer, we would go hunting and have bone fires in the fields. Eventually, we grew up and moved out. I went to the neighboring city where I graduated as an HVAC tech and started working in the heating industry. I would speak to my grandparents at least once every week. Last week when I spoke to them, granny had the flu and she told me the house was cold. I knew they had a heater and so wondered why the house was cold. They had forgotten to run heater maintenance on the boiler for a few months now. I decided to head there and help them out with their heat and AC products. The heating repair team checked on the furnace and established that it was damaged. Its efficiency had greatly reduced which resulted in uneven temperatures in the house thus, granny’s flu. After the HVAC service plan, we decided that the most suitable electric heating system would be the heated floors. They would help even out the temperatures. It would need little to no maintenance which was great owing to the forgetfulness of my grandparents. Compared to the furnace, this new unit would be more efficient and they would not need to keep replacing the furnace filters. Once the new unit from the heating dealership delivered the system, the professionals got on with the furnace/heater installation. I got a wireless thermostat for my grandparents as it would be easy to use.
