There is a really weird smell coming from the air ducts in my sister’s house and she called me up to see what I thought she should do about it.
I told her that I don’t really know what the smell could be, but then I told her that I really think that she should get it checked out by an air conditioning and heating professional.
When there is something wrong with the indoor air quality in your house, I don’t think it’s something that you should really mess around with. I feel like the indoor air quality in your home is very important because if there is something bad that you are breathing in all the time, then it is going to make you sick. Your respiratory health is very important, and if you have kids in the house the way that she does, it becomes even more important to make sure that your indoor air quality is good. Anyway, I told her that the weird smell in her air ducts could actually be anything. She may have mold or mildew growing inside of the air ducts, or even worse, she could have a dead animal up there somehow. I don’t think the idea of a dead animal being up there is very likely since the ventilation system runs on a closed circuit, but you never know. When I said that it could be a dead rodent of some sort, that’s what pushed her over the edge. She told me that she had decided that she was going to call her HVAC company right away.
